Portraits

One of my favorite things to draw is the human face. I love to try and capture a likeness, whether it be a straight portrait or as a caricature. I’ve experimented with many styles, and, back in 2016, I set myself a self challenge to draw each and every one of my Facebook acquaintances (in a variety of styles) and ended up doing somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 portraits by the time the end of the challenge rolled around.

I did a series of presidential portraits in woodblock style for a wooden toy company here in Grand Rapids back around fifteen years ago. The block are out of print, but I have recycled many of them into fun rubber stamps and tee shirts over at my Zazzle shop.
