Coloring Book Pages

Finished up the last two of the Literary Horror Coloring Book pages this morning. “The Time Machine” (above) and “Medusa and Perseus” (below). The remainder of the week will be working on the 3 remaining ‘color’ versions of the existing art, which I will post later in the week.

The coloring book project continues, and today I tackled “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Macbeth”. Only a few more to go, which I will likely post progress on Monday.

Another favorite Jules Verne book from when I was a boy was “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” (which was helped along by the Disney film version with Kirk Douglas and James Mason). Along with a more obscure Guy de Maupassant short story “The Horla” (below) are my two coloring book pages for the day. I believe I have 4 more to go, plus a few color versions and this project will be wrapping up.

A few more pages for the coloring book project today (and I may continue on with coloring the one above later this afternoon). The one above was a particular joy this morning, as Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” was one of my favorite books as a boy (I must’ve read it three times). Below is a portrait of Satan from Milton’s “Paradise Lost” (a book I admit I have not read, but am a big fan of the Gustave Dore’s illustrations).
