A few more spots today for the recipe book project. More next week.
Continuing with the Recipe book illustrations, and also working on sketches for the Llewellyn Witches Companion interiors. More to come tomorrow.
Back to work on line drawings for an upcoming recipe book project (all the recipes are inspired by various Fantasy books). These two drawings were more along the lines of ‘generic chapter openers’ (wild game, seafood). Will be working on these for the next several days, along with rough sketches for the annual Witches Companion project. I just finished up the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris paper doll book project yesterday, and it should be hitting the shelves fairly soon, and in fact, there is already a ‘pre-order page’ on Amazon.
On this inauguration day, my first thought was to do a parting jab at ‘you know who’, and my second thought was to commemorate the incoming administration, but as I’m working on paper dolls of those characters already, my final thought was that I would enjoy the sheer pleasure of not having to think about who’s holding the nuclear codes EACH AND EVERY HOUR OF EVERY WAKING DAY. So, with this in mind, I instead turned to a character we’ve been spending a lot of time with over the past few weeks. We picked up a DVD of the entire series of “Have Gun – Will Travel” with Richard Boone, and have been bingeing these old western tv shows. I regret not including him in my recent “Western Legends” coloring book, but took some time to do a caricature this morning. A refreshing western hero, who is not only good with a gun, but intelligent, moral and well read (and not even conventionally handsome).
Did some sketches for the recipe book project over the weekend, and then worked on a few new GreenPrints illustrations on Monday. The paper doll book is on hold until Inauguration Day, so in the meantime, I’ll likely be doing some oil painting.
