My son and I have been working on another comics project, sort of a ‘frontier western’ tale set on Mars. Here’s a sample of one of the pages that I worked up today. I had done some previous samples but wanted to start again with a bit more of a subdued color palette.
Still awaiting the ‘go ahead’ on a big project (announcement coming soon), but in the meantime, am working in the genre to keep limber and ready to go. My son and I have been working on a comics project together, and here’s one of the first pages (it’s sort of a science fiction/western featuring a trio of bug riding female desperadoes).
Still awaiting the green light to start a few upcoming book projects, so in the meantime, I’m working on a future project as a collaboration with my son. Above is another concept drawing, this time visualizing what sort of mounts our characters would be riding.
Also, while awaiting the ‘big projects’, I had a few quick turnaround pieces for Today Media, pictured below, one for Hudson Valley and the other for Delaware Today.
I did this drawing a few months ago, and got to wondering how it would look in 3-D. Many years ago I did one of my ‘Oscar Posters’ in this technique (because the buzz that year was about ‘Avatar’ which was released in 3-D), and this requires a pair of 3-D glasses (the kind with the red cellophane over the left eye and the blue over the right eye) to properly see the special effect. I am currently working on a project with my son, and was thinking this might be an interesting way to present it.
