Getting down the final four on this “Sun Also Rises” project I’ve been working on this month. I’ve been enjoying this project a great deal. I think illustrating fiction is one of my favorite things to do. Anyhow, here’s the latest in the twenty image series.
Just realizing that the first month of summer is already almost over, and seemed to have passed in the blink of an eye. I finished up the Harlem Renaissance book for Penguin this week (one sample of the 80 or so black and white illustrations is pictured below), and I’ve been plugging away at the illustrated edition of ‘The Sun Also Rises’ for Skyhorse (above, and a few below from this week, also see previous postings from this month). This week was also complicated by a power outage on Friday, plus a few quick turnaround assignments that I’m trying to squeeze in for Delaware Today over this week and next (one of which is pictured at the bottom of this post).
More progress on the Illustrated edition of ‘The Sun Also Rises’ for Skyhorse Publishing. These take about half a day each, and the rest of the day is spent on the Harlem Renaissance book for Penguin (samples to come next year sometime when it is published).
A few more interior illustrations for the Hemingway illustrated ‘Sun Also Rises’ project.
Started work this week on the interior illustrations for the illustrated “Sun Also Rises” for Skyhorse Publishing (here’s two samples). More to come later in the month. Also been working on finished illustrations for the ‘Harlem Renaissance’ project and sketches for the “Charles Shultz” project for Penguin (part of the ‘What Was/Who Was’ series, which I will likely share samples of after publication), and sketches for a book on Global Warming for MacMillan.
