Been a while since I’ve worked on the John Muir Trail project. Rather than work chronologically, I’ve decided to jump around on the story, so that I can use a few pages of this as a self promotional postcard this month. For those that are new here, I’ve been working on a graphic novel based on our summer trip last year, titled “How Not to Hike the John Muir Trail”. The above sequence takes place just prior to the halfway point of our adventure.
My son and I have been working on another comics project, sort of a ‘frontier western’ tale set on Mars. Here’s a sample of one of the pages that I worked up today. I had done some previous samples but wanted to start again with a bit more of a subdued color palette.
Did some spot illustrations to be used in the ‘Afterword’ of the ‘What Unites Us’ graphic novel this afternoon. The book is nearing publication, and I expect to have some news in the next few months regarding this.
