I started this blog (on another platform) in 2007, originally as a new medium of self promotion, and as a sort of portfolio of recent work. Eventually I realized that I could ‘back date’ entries, and then the blog morphed into a sort of Historical Record of my Freelance Career once I started adding the previous two decades (and beyond) to the growing ‘present day’ chronicle.
In 2014, I moved the original blog from its first home on ‘Blogger’ here to be fully integrated into my official website, and it eventually took me four years to completely move all the files here.
Now that everything is here, I am realizing a need for a simple way to navigate among the thirty years worth of samples and blog entries, so I’ve compiled a series of links on this page to make searching and finding particular posts a little easer on the reader.
Navigation by Year (these start on the first entry for January of the year selected, and you can move backward or forward from there) 2021 UPDATE: I am revising this blog yet again, and a lot of the early years are being combined into broad overview entries with important highlights retaining a separate blog entry. 1989-1997: Pre-digital // 1997-2007: Early digital and back-dated blog entries // 2007-2014: First version of blog (moved from original site) // 2014-2020: 2nd version of blog // 2021-Present: Revised and edited version of blog
Navigation by Client (these links can be found under the title of every blog entry, and some clients span 10, 20 or 30 year periods, while others were much shorter working relationships – Long Time Clients in bold) In alphabetical order:

Additional Points of Interest: Some additional stops along the way…
Every year I compile a selection of what I consider my strongest illustrations of the year and do a Year In Review post.
Take a look at all the various Self Promotion pieces I done over the years (postcard mailings, directory pages, brochures, giveaways)
Non-commissioned artwork, doodles and whatnots fall under the Personal heading. From time to time over the past three decades, I have ‘gone back to school’ to take my favorite class over again, Life Drawing. Drawings from these courses can be found under Figure Studies.
For over a decade, I did a Oscar Poster for my brother’s Academy Award Parties in Chicago. They can be found in these posts, or under the portfolio pull down menu.
Since around 1998, I’ve taken a renewed interest in making Music as a secondary (non paying or barely paying) career. You can also read about my band, the Jukejoint Handmedowns who have been around since 2010.
From time to time I have also dabbled in Animation.
