Out like a Lamb

Dover

nvwebsiteBeen a quiet second half of March. A smattering of assignments here and there, but not busy by any means. A lot of music gigs, which keeps my mental health on an even keel. Above is one of the Dover Evergreen covers that I’m currently working on, “National Velvet”, and I’ll be doing three others over the next few days. (update: Below is the cover for the Rudyard Kipling book “Kim”)

After finishing up the book project last week, work has slowed down to a trickle, but I did have a few projects come across the desk. The one above was for the Chronicle of Higher Education for a piece on the decline of the “Academic Satire” novel, and below, a few pieces for a private client of mine. I had done a series of book illustrations for this client back in 2013, and this is very much in the same style (I don’t recall if I ever shared any of the samples from that book, perhaps I shall in the near future). The portrait of Bernoulli is from last week, and the umbrella (for the same client) was done sometime last year (not sure if they are for the same project). A few more projects coming over the weekend, which I’ll likely share next week.

Untitled Project

personal

UntitledSciFiComicPage1webI finished up a book project this past weekend, and I’ve found myself with some downtime this week, so I began working on a project on my own (sample pictured above). I’m not quite sure where this is headed just yet. The book project is still unpublished, so I won’t be sharing any of the samples from that one just yet, maybe later this year. A few new projects have come up late in the week, so I’ll likely be switching over to them for the next couple of days, but then hopefully I’ll have some time to get back to work on this project soon.
