A few more jobs trickled in this week, thanks to some of my regular clients. The above illustration was for the Chronicle earlier this week, and below is a quick turnaround piece for the Journal this morning for the weekend edition.
Been a very slow summer, so we’re once again hitting the mails with another promo postcard. This was an image from last year that I also used for a Communication Arts ad earlier in the year, and we’ll be sending out a record number of postcards this time around, and they should hit sometime next week. I’m also hoping to get a website revamp up and running at around the same time.
Had another fiction assignment for Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine this week (pictured above). I think I’ve done illustrations for this same author before (at least the characters and settings seem very familiar to me).
Earlier in the weekend, I had a quick turnaround assignment for the Chronicle’s online edition, on hispanic recruitment.
Another couple of comics that I’ve been working on with a collaborator. We’re gearing up to start shopping these around, and will be revamping the website that these link to (to reflect the new focus on comics narrative) over the next couple of weeks, and I’ll be sure to post a link once the redesign has been implemented.
The story above was the first time that we’ve tried a ‘two pager’, and we’re also discussing longer and shorter concepts in upcoming incarnations. We’ve also implemented a new ‘masthead’ that has been incorporated into all the previous strips in this series. Below is another one pager that I also finished up this week. As usual, you can click on these small versions to see a larger more detailed image.
Rather slow around here at the start of August, so I did a little personal work. This is another ‘cd cover’ illustration for the country/western duo that I’ve been busy playing with this summer. I guess we better get busy and record some more tunes. (click on the image above to see a larger version)
