End of Week Wrap-up

Associations Now, WSJ

Finally starting to see the end of the tunnel with this flu that I’ve been down with for the past two weeks. Felt much better today and had a few projects to finish up for the weekend. The illustration above was a quick turnaround assignment for the Wall Street Journal, and the full page illustration below was one for Associations Now magazine.

Getting Ready for the Weekend

Associations Now, Barrons

A couple more jobs that finished early this week, in preparation for taking a an extended break for the weekend. Taking in a Tigers game with my Dad and Son on Thursday, and then the Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts starts on Friday, where I’ll be spending a lot of time downtown watching several of my friends playing in various bands (and I’ll be playing bass with a group on Sunday afternoon).

The ‘flamingo’ illustration above was one that I did for Barrons this week, about Florida real estate, and the illustration below is another one for a new client I picked up last month, Associations Now magazine (the concept being to incorporate a list of key words throughout the illustration, all over the car labels and patches on the pit workers).

Postcard Bites

Associations Now, ChronicleHE

Been getting a lot of good response from the most recent postcard mailing, more so than I usually hear right out of the starting gate in previous mailings. As a result of the postcard, a new client contracted me to do a similar ‘busy city’ scene for an interior illustration for their magazine (pictured above). You can also see a more detailed version of the art by clicking on the above image.
So far, May has been a big improvement on April, with regards to workload. Keeping fairly busy and a good balance between short and long term projects. Pictured below is one of the quick turnaround assignments I had this week for one of my regulars on college health care plans.
